  1. Hello Helen

I've never seen Chicken Run as I recall - but I have seen the Great Escape - (God - who hasn't - it's on most flipping Christmases!) but I am now getting pictures in my head of chickens on motorbikes (Steve McQueen - you no doubt remember).

I'm also picturing a body of chickens squawking the Sound of Music! - that just about wraps up the Christmas film scenario doesn't it!

I should be shot at dawn for bringing Christmas into the equation again - only just getting over the last one!

As for your comments on being bald again - Lord, how do we get round that without sounding mawkish, patronising or politely ignoring it. I know you're a great girl Helen - so let's be brutal and - hopefully - laugh at it - so, what I want to know is - does it go from all the personal places as well?

Honest to God - the things that get talked about on this website - and there was Jane picturing lovely discussions on counted stitch! Fondest love, Brenda XX

  2. Hi Brenda
Please feel free to ask what you like about my lack of hair. I would rather people say what is on their mind than ignore it. I have a few eylashes & eyebrow hairs left, the rest has ALL deserted, even the fine little hairs on my arms. The good side of that is no more having to shave. It might all come back again, so we just have to wait & see.

As for the girls at the bottom of the garden. Their favourite film is a based in a chicken factory & they build a plane to fly over the fence. Ours didn't need much help yesterday - the boss put her wings out & the wind did the job for her. Luckily they don't go far

  3. Hello love

Phew! - I can breathe again now I know I haven't offended you over lack of hair! - tell you what though - it'd be great if the chickens had the same problem - plucked and ready for market! (apart from the grisly stuff inside of course.)

Well, still blowing a gale here as no doubt it is your way as well so maybe the chickens have been flying off all day. Did you know in the aircraft world - something my husband is interested in - pilots have to squawk their flight details? Truly, it's the official word. In future I shall always get a picture in my mind of a chicken sitting in the cockpit waiting for landing instructions when I overhear my husband's airband radio.

Been sitting stitching this afternoon for about an hour and a half and have just tidied everything away so's I can get on with some domestic stuff. I keep thinking longingly of a Guild weekend away; seems ages since we were all at Bradford so I'm obviously suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Never mind, there's the NEC next month to look foward to. Obviously for you, Harrogate in November must be nearest. I've never been there although Geoff and I lived in York for about two and a half years back in late 1969/early 1970. I wasn't a stitcher then - what a shame with the Viking Loom right under my nose at that time.

Ah well, I can feel a cup of tea calling and the ironing basket is groaning where it's so heavy, so I must be off and fulfil the wifely job description!. love Brenda
