Life would be oooh sooo very boring if we did not give into temptation every now an then. Its good for the soul.

I told my hubby that I'm not coming home. Told him that y'all sound so awesome, I'm moving to England! Would love to spend some longer time there. I don't "dress-up" real well, but after looking at pictures of trips y'all have gone on, I think I'm ok. I wear jeans all the time, but have a nice long white skirt that will look nice for anything social. Does that sound ok? Yes, I'll wear a top and maybe even my bra.

Hi Doris, Please dont worry about what to wear,we sitichers come in all shapes and sizes and dress for comfort on these trips as we can spend quite a while on the coach especially when driving to Germany. Day visits and evenings out are times to smarten up a bit.Smart casual is the norm. The most important thing to bring with you is plenty of energy for all the shopping and a good sense of humour because we LAUGH A LOT. Look forward to seeing you 11 saturday`s to go and counting.

From what I hear about Germany, Doris, you might not need the bra and shirt! They are a liberal lot, very comfortable with nudity :-)

Yes, the German dress sense can a bit weird and wonderful at times - and that is coming from me! However, I would not advise going topless to see the weaving looms at V&H. Don't want any undesired entanglement with the little shuttles, do we?

As I don't want any of you lot getting sick when you see me, I will definitely NOT be going naked. Smart casual is what I aim for, but never quite achieve. And definitely we do not want any undesired entanglement with the little shuttles. Only 12 saturdays to go. It's getting nearer!.

Dear me - from reading through this lot I'm beginning to think I'd better take a bigger purse than planned! - seems like I might be spending a lot of money on all the goodies!
I'm really going to keep to a minimum the amount of clothing I shall be taking as I don't want to be carting a huge suitcase about as we change from hotel to hotel.
I am really looking forward to the trip - I'm sure there will be some of you there whom I have never met before as up to now I've only gone away on the weekends; so it will be nice to meet new faces (although I know the names so well from the forum).
Once we hit March I am sure the time will just speed away. We all need good things to look forward to.

It`s amazing how a question of what to wear on the holiday diverts to the subject of nuditiy and things getting caught in weaving machines. Can you imagine it 40 nude stitchers on a coach touring around Germay poor Malcolm(our coach driver)he would get such a fright. Also where would you keep you passport etc.? Just a thought!the mind boggles. Lets stick to clothing unless we get a heat wave then who knows anything possible!

Helen, I owe you one! Here I sit feeling horrible (I've got a chest infection) and feeling very sorry for myself, and I logged on, and read Helens reply, and started laughing. I feel a lot better now. Thanks girl! (and I'll phone you soon.)

Poor little Barbara. Hope you feel better soon. My darling betrothed shared his cough and cold and I am left with this annoying cough. Not only is the cough annoying, it is also annoying that I don't feel bad with it, so don't have the excuse that I am too poorly to do housework.
By the way, one way to cheer yourself up, Barbara, is think of all the crazy gang. I am sure you will find plenty to laugh about then.Posted 13 years ago # -
To Brigitte & B hope your coughs are better soon, nothing worse than a nagging cough.
How about us all wearing Lederhosen (Brigitte hope I have spelt it write)? aslo what`s the German for crazy gang ?Posted 13 years ago # -
Brigitte, I sympathise about the cough. Mine's been keeping me awake at nights (Why do you always start coughing when you go to bed?) but the antibugs will soon kick in, I hope, and I'll be a lot better. Helen, I am thinking about making you a pair of lederhosen, and you will have to wear them on the coach. Hows that for something to make us all smile? Tee Hee!

OmG, Lederhosen. Next you will want us all to yodel!!!! Malcolm would have kittens.
I think that we have been very lucky that he has put up with us all these years. We could do with a sign like 'Little Princess on Board' only it should read:
VORSICHT! Verrückte Sticktruppe an Bord!Posted 13 years ago # -
Helen has told me that she expects me to actually make her the leiderhosen!! For God's sake, I've just finished making some odd costumes for the pantomime!! For the sake of all my fellow travellers, I will NOT be making any funny short things for Helen to wear. We will all turn up at Fairford, dressed in normal clothes and meet and greet all our fellow travellers in a decorous fashion. (Some hope)! BUT I think we should all practice yodelling so we can have a little sing song. Okay fellow travellers, I await your comments.

Barbara
You haven't heard me sing yet alone yodelling. If you had you would never make such a suggestion. I'd scare you all away.Sally

I am NOT wearing Lederhosen it would not be a pretty sight and anyway knowing are weather still far to cold for shorts.Normal clothes for me I think. We could still all do a bit of thigh slapping and yodelling. Brigitte will have to teach us.

Yodel, moi? You are having a laugh. Like Sally I could empty the Albert Hall with my singing. It sounds good in my head, but something happens to the tunes when they make their way out of my mouth.
In any case I am from the 'proper' part of Germany and yodel is not in our repertoire. So for musical entertainment you will have to bring your nosepods or eyepods or whatever these things are called and plug yourselves into them. However, you will be missing some true gems of conversation, such as: 'Undo your seatbelt and have a little grope', would we not, RH?????Posted 13 years ago # -
Brigitte, you have made sutch a harmless little comment sound ohh soo veryy bad, but honest gov at the time it just seemed the most appropriate thing to say.
Posted 13 years ago # -
Yeah, but it was flippin' hilarious at the time and we all had been tasting a lot of wine that evening.
Posted 13 years ago # -
Okay, I accept that yodelling is out! We'll just enjoy ourselves as usual, and laugh hysterically at some perfectly innocent comment. Only 10 weeks to go. See you on the coach!
