  1. Goodness - this must be the most added-to topic on the Forum - anyone would think you are looking forward to this holiday (!).

And now a message to Doris - as an American you can be forgiven, but I don't think you would want to meet the Queen Mum just yet luv - she's in heaven. You are probably mixing her up with our reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II - now she is still alive - but grey and wrinkly like the rest of us and when she goes on holiday she has a whole household to pack for her; unlike we lesser mortals.

Looking forward to meeting you soon! Love Brenda

I was wondering if it would hit 100, and now it has. Yes Brenda, you are right, we are looking forward to this holiday. Can't think why! See you in less than 2 weeks.

Definitely looking forward to next week. After a lousy start to the year and the past few weeks, it will be lovely to get away from it all and relax with a capital R, and a glass of lovely German red wine - bliss!

As I missed last year's tour - the reason for it is celebrating his 1st birthday tomorrow and is drop dead gorgeous - I feel like I have not had a holiday for ages. Cannot count the trips to see my Mum as holidays as I have to get myself there and back in the car. It's only a week tomrorrow that Margaret arrives. Well, as I am not driving myself to Fairford there will be no need to go back to the car in the morning to get something out that I have forgotten, so I shall stay in my room till I have to actually leave it. Is it really that irrationally that an OAP gets that excited - nearly peeing myself with excitement - just because of the prospect of getting onto a coach with a bunch of equally mad stitchers?

  5. The best bit about finishing work tomorrow is not having to wear my uniform for TWO weeks, the black suit (I look like i`m in permanent mourning) and badge etc. will be thrown to the back of the wardrobe YIPPEE!
as for the red wine Sue I can taste it already, mmmmmm

Will you lot stop gloating about finishing work tomorrow, and not returning for two weeks. I've still got two days work to do next week, won't finish until Wednesday evening, and will definitely NEED that glass of red wine when we get there. Well, I suppose in one way its good that I don't have to work on Thursday or even worse Friday. There are some perks to being retired I suppose!

Only a week to go!! Do you reckon I'm getting excited about our holiday? I've actually started counting the days! Doris, hope you've got the instructions on where to meet us. If you've found Victoria Station, you're well on the way to finding where the coach will be, and there will be other stitchers around - you'll know them instantly, by the cases, and the excited atmosphere that will surround them. See you on Saturday.

I actually did a dummy run to Luton airport the other day so I know exactly where to go to pick Margaret up when she flies in from the Isle of Man. I am so excited I could pee myself. Sorry, not a pretty image, but that's how it is. I think Jane completely understated how addictive cross stitch is when she was on the Create & Craft channel.
I am so looking forward to getting on that coach and let Malcolm worry where to go, because I know on 28th May I shall be sitting in my car and heading for Duisburg again.
And not having been with you crazy lot last year - the reason for which celebrated his first birthday the other day and is getting more gorgeous by the day, but then I may be prejudiced - I am more than ever in need of CSG Tour therapy.

Well, gracious. Must have missed the news that day. Are you sure she passed? Just have to drink the tequila by myself. Anyone care for a shot? I asked my husband why he didn't tell me and he said because I never listen to him!!!
Okay, I got the map, looks like I meet y'all at Bressenden Place which is quite far from my hotel, so I'm going to take a taxi there. I thought about the underground, but lugging luggage, toting a tote bag, and managing me while doing so would turn me into needing the whole bottle of tequila for myself. My suitcase still has a bout 4 inches of space, add that to the 2 inches the case can be expanded to, I can start with that. Until I reach a post office. I am so looking forward to this trip, mainly to be meeting y'all.

  10. Hi Doris - I too will be making my way to Bressenden Place for the pick up so if you see someone waiting around looking drop dead gorgeous, legs up to her armpits, elegant and sophisticated, well just look behind her to the grey old wrinkly standing in her shadow - that'll be me! Brenda

Doris, from what I've read about the late Queen Mother, she wouldn't have needed anybody to teach her how to down a shot of tequila! She could probably have taught you how to down it. Her favourite tipple was Gin and Dubonnet, and she certainly knew how to down that lot. We'll be on the coach from Fairford, so we'll all look forward to meeting you at Bressenden Place. A taxi sounds a really good idea. I battled the London Underground for years when living in London, and I wouldn't recommend it to any stranger to the country. Good luck, and see you on Saturday.

    Brenda, you are too funny!!
I knew there was a reason I wanted to meet the Queen Mum.
OMW 2 days and I get on the humongous vessel to England. Am not looking forward to flying so will keep telling myself "this too shall pass". My husband figured out one day that I have flown enough in my life to have circumnavigated the globe 2 1/2 times. Next year I'll look into taking a boat to the UK. Sorry, rambling here.

You silly sausage, Helen. Just because there have been precendences of members falling over by missing the step, does not mean you have to try it out for yourself. I am glad you are at least fit enough to get yourself on the coach. If you are in pain, apply alcohol in any way it works.

Helen, you poor baby!! Hope you're feeling better now. Its the relief of not having to go to work for a couple of days that does it. You were trying to copy me weren't you? I'm bringing the first aid kit, but I don't particularly want to have to use it. Got to go and see to the other sick now (the patients in other words). See you Saturday, and I'll bring something with me that will help you forget all your bruises.

Okay, ladies, I shall be boarding my plane here in Jacksonville in less than 5 hours. Now you are warned, you're going to have me for 2 weeks. (Hehe hehe, she laughs evilly.) I do promise to wear clean undies every day. This is so cool.
See ya when I see ya.

Doris, you will be up in the clouds by now. You will stay there till we part company and be on your own cloud 9 for some time to come - the tours have that effect. Can't wait for Saturday.

I hope you all have a brilliant time and I look forward to loads of photos and gossip. I'm sad I'm not going but I'll be cruising through the Panama! Hopefully will meet up with some of you in Leicester. Brigitte, we really must try to travel the ten miles or so and meet up for a coffee or something! Don't completely clear out the manufacturers and leave some stash for mail order customers! Alison xx
