Hello, I have just completed all the pages for the FS book and was wondering which is the best way to attach the pages to the cover, individually or stitch all pages together and then stitch to the spine. I would be grateful for any help please.

    Thank you

Hello, I have just realised I did not introduce myself. I am Hazel and live in Middlesex have been stitching for well over 25 years. I like all craft work but especially like challenges which is why I done the FS book and love doing it immensely. I am actively involved in W.I. being secretary to our Institute and also belong to U3A and run a very small craft group there. Hope to be active on this forum.

BTW have been a follower of Jane's career for nearly 30 years and have done a lot of her designs. Hope to see her on Freeview tomorrow night.

    Happy stitching

    Hi Hazel!

I've just finished my sampler book, and (after much deliberation and experimentation) I've sewn each page individually to the spine. That way, I figured that any one page could be removed/replaced if necessary.

I've got this problem to come, as I've not finished it yet. Well, I've had other things to do like decorating the front room for example, and I couldn't even FIND the sampler book. It will be interesting to see other peoples ideas on this, but the last time I did something like this, I think I too, did each page individually. Incidentally greetings Hazel, nice to have another member of the forum.

Hello, I have finished my book and took the advice of Christine and did one page at a time, it looks alright but I am not 100% happy with the edging and do hope it does not fray. Forgot to do the centre of one of the flowers so added a button after it was all sewn together.

If you've hemstitched the edges of the pages as per Jane's instructions, then they should be OK. The hemstitching sort-of magically holds the edge threads together!

PS. If only we had the facility to post photographs then I could show you what mine looks like....

  7. I've just the last page to finish.
I'll be putting each page in individually - this worked fine in the original book

  9. I just have to stitch the pages in and then mine will be finished as well. I've really enjoyed stitching it. Can't wait to see the rest.

I'm just stitching my last couple of pages in. It looks fantastic, and I've really enjoyed making it. It might be the last thing for a couple of months as I've got all my coursework to do, and I won't have time.
