I want to start stitching the above chart but don't like the background colour on the original. Has anyone else stitched this on a different colour making it look just as good?

    Hi!

I'm not familiar with this particular design, so I checked it out online. I can see why you would want to change the background colour.

Colour is a very personal thing, and I would not hesitate to change fabric colour - or even thread colours - if I felt that they weren't 'right' for the design. This is particularly easy when you have a chart rather than a kit, but I have been known to do it even with a kit.

So go ahead and choose a fabric colour you prefer...

  3. Hi
I agree with Christine - the fabric in the picture doesn't do the design any favours.
I'd be tempted to go with pale blue or one of those pale tie die effect blues
But, at the end of the day it is your choice, Don't be afraid to change things, it is your work after all

I guess you wouldn't want a fabric that was TOO pale, because you need the bubbles to show up against it.

But I like Helen's idea of a tie-dye blue. Or geen, maybe...
