Beautiful Day

  1. What a beautiful day it is today after the rotten one yesterday. I’m sat here looking out of my window at the sun shining on the sea. A complete contrast from yesterday when I could hardly see the house across the road let alone the sea. There are not many boats on the water now, but just think what it will be like next year when all the Olympic boats are in the harbour. I think that I will now take advantage of the daylight and get on with some stitching before I have to get ready for another trip to the hospital. Not many more now though as I am gradually getting the strength back in my hand, hence I am now stitching again and feeling much more cheerful for it.

    Happy Stitching, Sally

    Hello Sally

It was lovely reading your description of looking out at the sun shining on the sea. It made me wonder where you live but as you mention the olympics I wonder if you are Portland way. I too am sat looking out across a sun spangled bay as I live in Clovelly. One of our few remaining fishing boats has just come in and the seagulls are going mad - a coach full of American tourists has also just arrived and I'm not sure whos making the most noise - bless them. I don't know what the problem with your hand has been but good luck at the hospital - I am fast getting arthritic lumps and bumps in my stitching hand which are quite painful at times but I would learn how to stitch left handed rather than give up this glorious hobby - so hope your problem is soon resolved - all the best Su

  3. Hi Sue

Aren't we lucky to have such views. I actually look out over Portland Harbour looking at it from the Weymouth side. I had a arthritic bone removed and I felt the relief as soon as I'd had the operation. It was my left hand, but you need that to hold the stitching.

Its an even better day today, as my Stitch That just fell through the letter box, just in time for me to take it on holiday and read it thoroughly. I'm heading off towards Norfolk and Suffolk, so I'll be able to have lovely views across the countryside, and hopefully I'll be able to see some sea. Hope the fine weather lasts. Isn't it a joy getting old. You have more time to do things, but you can't do them cos your body is falling to bits! Hope that the hand is getting better Sally.

  5. Yes it's another beautiful day. I've just got home from having a lovely lunch on sunny Portland and it was even better when I arrived home as my Stitch That was on the doorstep. I'm now going to relax and have a look through it. Have a wonderful holiday Barbara. My hand is now much better and I am stitching again, but only slowly. I have to build the strength up in it so am having fun playing with plasticine, elastic bands and clothespegs.Hope the weather keeps fine for you. Sally
