Well, folks, if ever I have been more in need of the therapeutic effect of a CSG tour, it is now. Not only got my brain slightly confused with putting the clocks back twice on my travelling day, I had a lucky escape by not having quite joinded the motorway again after a comfort stop when the gear box packed up. Fortunately the reverse gear still worked so I could manoeuvre myself onto the empty lorry parking area and wait for the tow truck to get me to my Mum's. Instead of arriving there around 5 pm on a beautiful Sping day I got there thanks to my AA insurance just before midnight. My brother towed me to the Fiat garage Monday morning and they did jolly well to get a gear box ordered from Italy and fix the car by Thursday afternoon. Needless to say I am a considerable number of £s lighter. On the way back I got directed onto the very late noon ferry, so was a good half hour ahead of myself, a time which I immediately lost when it became obvious that there was no petrol to be had in Dover and my refuel light came on going up the hill towards the M20. Bravely I went into Folkestone to hunt down a garage where I could fill up. I had visions of making it to the Maidstone Services and spending the night in the Day Inn there. At home it was mayhem as our Gloucester lot had arrived on Friday and stayed till Tuesday evening. So yesterday and today was spent getting rid of all the laundry and getting the bedding ready again for the visitors next week - something I thought I had already done. Well, there's nothing else for it now, but relax and stitch for the rest of the day. Norway here I come.

Had thought of you last week Brigitte and wondered if all was well, thinking really of petrol. I have a Fiat too, only trouble so far, touch wood, 2 nails in the same tyre! You really deserve the trip away - enjoy xx

Poor Brigitte, it sounds an awful trip. Take care, and don't worry about your liver too much, but sink some of the vino collapso, and I'll see you on the coach. I've been up and down the M4 recently, and finding petrol on the last trip was not exactly a bed of roses but we managed okay.
