  1. Big thrill today, the postman came with two items for me - one was this year's subscription gift and the other? - the NHS Bowel Screening kit!!

I was thrilled with the subscription gift - being a nice squarish size it fits into all my little plastic boxes (those that come free with magazines from time to time). It's such a useful item and I really think Jane has a winner with this.

The NHS Bowel Screening kit - well, the less said about that the better! Makes sense to do it of course and I can't believe two years have gone by since I did the last one.
Having a weird sense of humour (well, perhaps just weird full stop) I immediately went into the ridiculous thinking of all the kits that have probably gone out with other 'M's this week (my surname) and thought of Her Majesty - wonder if she does one. Perhaps I should stop at that point!

Hope to see you at Leicester - looking forward to some lovely stitching and lovely company. Brenda

Since my surname starts with G I have done the screening bit. Got the all clear. So far so good. When you get to my age any non-bad news is good news.
Had the details about Leicester in the post. Would have loved to have joined you, but I am coming back from Germany on the Wednesday night, and grandson No. 1 has his 12th birthday on the Saturday, so having to travel to Norwich, I cannot see how I can fit Leicester in that weekend.
    Have fun.

  3. So sorry you are not going to be with us at Leicester Brigitte - haven't seen you at a weekend for a bit. Maybe we'll bump into each other at Ally Pally again - that reminds me there was something from Twisted Thread in my e-mails last week to say the Learning Curve programmes are now available on screen so I must go and have a look to see what takes my fancy this year.

Pleased to hear your NHS screening went well - what with eyes in February, teeth last month and now my 'innards' - there's not much of me left to look at! My brain's so small it's not worth bothering with and I take great care of my feet anyway, as I need those in good order to get me to our stitching venues!

    Bye for now, Love Brenda

Snap, eyes in February, teeth in April and again now. Falling to bits slowly.

I don't know what they are playing at at Twisted Thread. They email me just about every exhibition going, but I have not heard a dickybird about Ally Pally. I phoned them on Friday morning and they said they'd email me the details. Nothing yet. When I went to my Friday Needlecraft meeting one of the girls who had only ever bought a programme to date had a letter by snail mail with all the info. I shall have to go online and sort it out myself.
Have a good time in Leicester. I hope next year there won't be so many family events that I can devote a few more pennies to the stitching W/Es.
