I've learnt recently that gas men require lubrication in the form of cups of tea, or coffee, together with a slice of cake, every half hour! Every carpet in the house has been lifted, it sounded as though they were demolishing the upstairs at one time, my sewing patterns have been hidden behind furniture, the stairs are covered in slippery cloths making it a danger to life and limb every time you go up there, and Bob asked me why I couldn't do any sewing because I couldn't do anything else while they were there. Men!!!
On the plus side however, one of the gas men is a diesel driver and guard on the local railway, so he's given me good tips on where to see the engines, and has promised me a close look at the engines in the steam rally which is in two weekends time . There are some compensations to be had I suppose.
