  1. Hands up all those who went to Ally Pally! - hope like me you had a brilliant time.

I was there for two days and I very much doubt I missed anything, it was a great show.

Gravitated to Jane's stall as you might expect and within two seconds I saw and fell in love with the Old-Fashioned Sewing Set. It's just absolutely lovely and I fully intend taking it to Leicester and will start stitching it there - I'm looking forward so much to starting something new and knowing I shall have the whole day on the Saturday to just indulge myself in getting it set up etc. There will also be the Leicester project itself too of course - I may well find myself in an agony of decision as to what to start first!!

For those of you going to the Harrogate show do look out for 'Sewing Set' - the photos on the website don't do it full justice and it is of course lovely to stitch something that will be useful too.

Oh, isn't the world a lovely place when it's full of stitching stuff!!.............

Didn't go to AP but hoping to get to Harrogate with Miss B next month.

Andrea has us in fits at Craft Club this week, describing one of the more interesting artistic displays at Ally Pally (think "anatomically correct")......

  3. Ah yes Christine - a certain stall comes to mind, to which I think you refer - my mind boggled when I saw it......didn't hang around to see what it was all about!!

  4. Now you need to spill the beans & not keep us in suspenders
Or is that one for Leicester?

  5. Sorry, meant to say I also think the sewing set looks adorable. I may have to get some fabric & design my own though as I can see it with hardanger & pansies!!

  6. Wouldn't want to spoil Andrea's show Helen so we'll leave her to tell you about it at Leicester.....

As for a sewing set in hardanger and pansies - ooooh - like the sound of that!

Haven't seen you for a bit - it'll be nice to have a catch up, see what mischief you've been up to.... love Brenda

p.s. are you fattening up some 'girls' for Christmas?? poor things .....

Ally Pally was indeed an excellent show, made even better by coffee and goss with Mrs Midgley and a good journey there and back!

According to my elementary maths, its, oh no, I can't do maths, sleeps to Leicester! Soon it will be next week!!

  9. Brenda, Mick says that they're too old & anyway where would he get the eggs for Yorhsire Puddings & Christmas cakes?

  10. Ah - that's the thing with these men Helen - they always like their 'birds' young!

He's right about the puddings and cakes though.... and nothing beats a nice boiled egg with toasted soldiers.......
