I am looking forward to the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show this weekend. My lovely Husband is taking me to stay in a hotel for the weekend and we are going to the show on Saturday, I will spend the rest of my time eating, shopping, resting and some boozing. I am soooo looking forward to it and I will probably spend lots of money on stitching stuff that I don't need cos I have loads of kits/charts and threads already, but oh what fun! My husband is brilliant he doesnt complain(well not much) and if he gets bored I usually find him in the cafe or he quite happily chats away to the stallholders, I love Little House Needlework designs and how I dont come home with the charts that I already have I dont know because I never think to write a list of what I have at home, maybe thats a thought for this year. Happy Stitching Everyone

Hi froggy
Welcome to the forum, its great to be able to chat with like minded people and if you have a stitching problem, put it to the ladies on the forum and someone usually has a solution for you. When I saw Jane on her stall at Harrogate both her and Bill were very busy so I didnt stay for a chat, I am sure that they are both ready to take a well earned breather after all their hard work. My other half is well used to being sidelined for cross stitch to take priority, I dont feel guilty at all because I am a golf widow in the summer months so that evens it out. I try to stitch every day at some point but its usually in the evening, I look after my 15 month old grandson Matthew while my daughter works full time so as you can imagine he would have great fun with my threads if I tried to stitch while he was here...

Welcome to the best madhouse in the world, froggy. I have been going to the show at Alexandra Palace as it is much closer to home than Harrogate. It's brilliant, isn't it?

Hello everyone. I am a new member and am just soooo excited about the prospect of starting my new Jane Greenoff project. I too went to the show at Harrogate. I was on my Camper Van holiday in Settle and drove across country to get there. WOW! I was overwhelmed with choice and ideas and had a whole list of things on my shopping list. That is until I got to Jane's stall.
I can't really find the words to describe how excited I felt when I came across Jane Greenoff's stall. The displayed works were so delicate and detailed. Instead of being cute or cartoon style the work was just so ......see I don't have the words. I became all giddy and breathless and had to go for a walk to clam down enough to look at the work properly.
I was particularly impressed with the sample book. (How come the back of MY work doesn't look like that?) Spoilt for choice, and unable to decide exactly which kit to buy, I joined the Cross Stitch Guild and am now looking forward to starting the flower sample book. HOWEVER, I am so worried about the hem on the book. I expect that I will be asking for help from the forum when my fabric kit arrives.
Well that's me, hope to chat soon. Take care all of you in this awful snow.
