Saved motifs in the 'my motifs' file suddenly not there. Anyone else have that problem?

If you mean iStitch, then I've just tried this and it worked OK - that is, I saved a motif to My Motif and it's still there.

If you mean that the whole 'My Motifs' folder is missing, I suggest you contact ILSOFT - details are under Help > Contents > Contacts for Further Help.

    Good luck!

It sounds to me like you two are talking a foreign language. Hope you get your motifs back.

I am with you there Brigitte , why cant computer people speak proper English? I suppose they think it is clever , but I am a bit of a Luddite at heart . I might catch up one day !

Sorry Auntie Beryl, did not mean to sound clever. Simply wanted my motifs back!
Motifs successfully stored in their folder for a few weeks suddenly disappeared. I'll contact Ilsoft.
I thought this was a forum for users of istitch.

    Thanks, Christine for being helpful.

The Cross Stitch Guild Forum is for all aspects of stitching - including the iStitch program, which is a good program and I can't understand why your folder has disappeared like that. It's definitely not supposed to happen! I would hope that ILSOFT will be able to sort you out.
Just a thought - have you tried looking in your computer's Recycle Bin in case it has accidentally been deleted?
Or you could try doing an advanced search for filename MyMotifs.rxm - this is the file which contains your motifs, and should be in the following folder:-
    C:\Program Files\ILSOFT\Jane Greenoffs iStitch\My Own Motifs

    Regards

    Dear Auntie Bee

There are "Dummy's Guide to ..." most things, but as I firmly believe that computers are the work of the D***L (and this is from one who earned her living as a computer programmer), then in some regards you are better off not knowing :o)

    Best wishes

  11. I'm putting in my twopennorth here - (a) I'm useless on computers so haven't got much idea what you are all talking about and (b) will you please stop having a pop at Auntie Beryl!
She's only 5' nothing - so come on everyone - big Aaaah for Beryl and boo to the others.

What a hoot! This forum is getting more like a pantomime every day - let's all get back to harmonious stitching.

Hope you've all got your Harvest knickers on ('All is safely gathered in' - for the slow ones) to keep you cosy from waist to knee.

    Love, Brenda

The thermals are definately needed!! My nice little "terrapin" classroom at the side of the playground has it's own heating system and I had set it so that we were nice and warm last week. This morning we were freezing, had to whack the temperature up to almost max, it was nice and warm this afternoon though. Children keep looking out of the window looking for the predictaed snow.
Did manage some stitching over the weekend but am stitching SNOWMEN!! but need to finish and frame it for Christmas.

isn't it odd how a thread about motifs has turned into a discussion on big knickers...
